Become a CASA Volunteer

When a child enters the foster care system because of abuse or neglect, they need someone to speak up for their best interests, a trusted adult who will make sure their voice is heard. That’s where CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers come in. As a CASA volunteer, you’ll work closely with children, families, and professionals to help judges make informed decisions about a child’s future. You’ll get to know the child, advocate for their needs, and ensure they have the resources and support to grow and succeed.

No legal or child welfare experience is required, CASA provides thorough training, ongoing guidance, and a supportive community of advocates. What matters most is your dedication to making a difference. By becoming a CASA volunteer, you can help change the story for a child in need; one voice, one child, one life at a time.

FAQ

At CASA of Elkhorn Valley, we work with youth that are not only experiencing the stresses of childhood development, but also enduring the added weight of abuse or neglect.

Throughout this process, the youth requires support and a trustworthy outlet to turn to. As a Court Appointed Special Advocate, or CASA Volunteer for short, you can provide that much needed support to youth in need. A CASA Volunteer acts in the child’s best interest and communicates with other parties to ensure the best of care is being provided. In the midst of sudden changes and chaos, a CASA Volunteer is the constant a youth can rely on.
