O’NEILL, NE – October 26, 2026
CASA of Elkhorn Valley has officially announced the expansion of its advocacy services into seven new Nebraska counties, significantly widening its ability to represent abused and neglected youth. In addition to its long-standing operations in Holt and Madison counties, the organization will now provide dedicated court-appointed special advocates to children navigating the foster care system in Boyd, Knox, Wheeler, Garfield, Antelope, Stanton, and Pierce counties.
What Are Court Appointed Special Advocates?
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are trained community volunteers appointed by judges to voice the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. This regional expansion ensures that vulnerable youth across a nine-county service area have a consistent, stable adult fighting for their safety, emotional well-being, and permanent placement.
What Is CASA’s Mission?
"Our mission has always been to ensure that every child who has experienced trauma has a compassionate voice in court," said Monica Huber, Executive Director of CASA of Elkhorn Valley. "Expanding into these new communities allows us to bridge critical gaps in advocacy. We look forward to meeting with local residents, building trust, and welcoming new volunteers who want to make a profound difference in a child's life."
Informational Events To Be Held In Each New County
To support this major growth milestone, representatives from CASA of Elkhorn Valley will soon host a series of informational community events within each newly added county. These public sessions will introduce the program to local residents, explain how CASA collaborates with regional court systems, and detail the training process for prospective volunteers.
CASA of Elkhorn Valley relies heavily on local individuals and community support to fulfill its mission. Area residents are encouraged to reach out to learn more about upcoming informational meetings, discover volunteer training opportunities, or make a donation to fund advocacy resources for these newly added territories.
