CASA Of Elkhorn Valley Extends Shoe Drive Fundraiser, Offers Josh Turner Concert Tickets To Top Donor

O'NEILL, NE — June 29, 2026 — CASA of Elkhorn Valley has officially extended its community shoe drive fundraiser through Monday, July 13, 2026. In an effort to maximize community participation, the organization will award two tickets to the upcoming Josh Turner concert at Summerfest on July 18th to the business, group, or individual that collects and donates the largest quantity of shoes.

All funds raised through the campaign directly support local court-appointed volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children navigating the foster care and legal systems. For every pound of shoes collected, CASA of Elkhorn Valley earns $0.50 from its recycling partner, converting unwanted footwear into direct, vital funding for vulnerable youth.

Donations of gently used or brand-new footwear are being accepted, including work boots, sandals, slippers, and athletic shoes. Community members are advised that shoes with wheels or visible holes in the soles cannot be accepted.

Donations must be delivered by the close of business on Monday, July 13, 2026, at any of the following official drop-off sites in O'Neill:

  • CASA of Elkhorn Valley Office (115 N 5th St)

  • KBRX Radio Station Office

  • The O'Neill Chamber of Commerce Office

  • The O'Neill Shopper Office

"Our volunteers serve as a crucial, constant voice for children experiencing absolute chaos in their lives," said Monica Huber, Executive Director of CASA of Elkhorn Valley. "By extending this drive and adding a friendly competition for Summerfest tickets, we hope to rally local businesses and residents to clean out their closets and directly impact a child's future."
